We called it a trip ... 3D/2N @ Singapore

Been to Singapore over the weekend, it wasn't a holiday nor shopping trip whereby a lot of people tends to make up their own assumptions that I went there for shopping. Anyway, you may read this for better understanding on my trip & most importantly the Chinese Medical Centre that we visited on the first day we touched down.

Apart from that, we went to VivoCity for a walk & food on Saturday. The shopping mall is huge, where we can't even complete 1/4 of it. Nothing much, was doing some window shopping & spent most of our time sitting down for foods & drinks. It was good! Found this shop that sell pregnant outfit, the name is cute ... and it reminds me of my best buddy Eggie Denise.

This photo was taken especially for you, Denise!

Leisure photo taken while Kenny & Gloria were having their break on the green green grass

And .. this is the BEST part!
Kenny's liquor rack! Isn't it cool? I so feel like drinking his Blue Label if I wasn't suffering from flu & cough!

It's time for the Countdown ...

Yuhooo ... I'm back! I've been missing-in-action for a while since my last post dated 9 December 2008. Well, I was off to KL for a sweet escape with my dear "Barney" for a week. Like I said, it was a sweet escape, spending most of our quality time together, done some Christmas shopping together. But believe it or not, I didn't do much shopping for myself, did it for our families & friends.

Can you believe it's the week of Christmas already? Time flies like rocket, just a blink of eye, we will have to farewell the year of 2008 with cheers. I don't know about others, but I have officially started my holiday since a week ago, and even now I'm back to work, the holiday mood is still swinging in my mind. This will last 'till next week I guess ... hehehe! I'm such a lazy bump!

I'm not sure whether anyone of you still remember that I've blogged about the elegant cat that I met in KL sometime around August [Click here to recall if you need one]. I met her again this time ... and just for your information benefit, her name is Aida -- such a nice name! I've got more unbelievable stories from this RM8000 cat from this trip. I bet you would prefer to live as a cat after reading this:-
  • ... she has done her grooming at RM500 per session (My highlight + treatment the other day didn't even cost me RM300!).
  • ... she was admitted to animal hospital for 2 nights, and that costs her owner RM2,800 (that's not even my yearly medical expenses!).
  • ... she owns her very own personal passport and she has been to several countries such as Hong Kong & France (shit man .. I've not even been to France and she does). The best thing is ... she doesn't need to be quarantined during travel, she could just sit besides the pilot.
  • ... she only eats her food when you replenish it to the fullest like a little mountain. And ... she doesn't eat normal Whiskies ... her food specially imported from Australia.
  • ... and many more I believe
Ahhhh ... please kill me!

Anyway, I shall start my countdown very soon ... haha!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year 2009 too all my beloved friends & families!
Wishing all of your the joyous seasons!

By the way, various photos with superb Christmas decorations were uploaded to my Facebook. Click here to view the pix. The decorations were fantastic especially at The Curve!

Things I Touched + Saw in KL

You won't believe this ... I swear this is the most incredible thing I've seen in KL this time.

An RM8,000 Persian cat ... yes, please read my lip -- E.I.G.H.T T.H.O.U.S.A.N.D, you are right ... I have the opportunity to touch an Eight Thousand cat. Knowing me ... I don't fancy pets, I even have a little bit of phobia on all those 'moving fury creatures'. But ... I told myself this is a not-so-ordinary cat, it worth at least 3 LV bags. I had to get over it & force myself to touch the cat!

A pilot, neighbour of Zul (Zan's brother) owns this elegant Persian cat. His nature of job requires him to fly here & there everyday, he has no time to be with the cat at all. Therefore, the responsibility falls on Zul. Let me tell you how special is this bloody good life cat ...

Can you imagine she's not staying in a cage? In fact, she's staying in a half a million town house just like anyone of us, she can have her own choice on which room to sleep in everynight. The house is equipped with 24-hours full blast air-conditioning (even the owner is away, the air-con has to be 'on' at all times to ensure the cat a damn good life). What's more ... have you ever seen any pet that only drinks cold water? Make sure it's cold water from the freezer, she doesn't accept tap water & she knows that, don't ever cheat on her. And ... and ... and ... She has Domino's pizza as supper .... Geng hor!

If you think you can't take it at this point & cannot accept a cat having a much better life than you, please stop reading here. Because I'm sure the following point would make you vomit blood!

Her damn exclusive character is the one last good reason why I like this cat! She must be visited EVERYDAY, spend at least 5 to 10 minutes pampering her, if not her fur will drop due to depression! Unique or not? I just couldn't stop laughing after knowing this ... Zan couldn't stop thinking that for one whole week & kept comparing this RM8,000 cat with my RM2,000 LV & his RM6,000 Tag Heuer. Funny or not ...

To be frank, if one of these days I was forced to raise at least one kind of pet, I would choose cat. Don't you feel that cat has a very unique & exclusive character that symbolizes Elegance & Sophistication? I do feel that ... I like the way they sit on your sofa, while you on the other side, like an idiot trying so hard to please them, but they just give you a don't-give-a-damn look and their pair of eyes kind of telling you that ... "please leave me alone, it's my life ..." isn't it cool? I just love that.

Anyway, I don't only see cat in KL. I managed to meet up with Steph & visited Vanessa & her family at her house. Her baby is so cute ... and until today, I still cannot believe that my best friend -- the one that used to sit besides me during old school days is somebody's mum now!
Vanessa feeding milk to her lovely baby girl ...

Basically, my KL trip was great. Both of us enjoyed it very much, it was just too short for us. I never expect that Zan can actually shop more than me. He got himself new suits + new pants + new working shoe while I only got myself new clothes for working. But I'm happy, because it's more than enough for me to fulfill my shopping desires!

Nexus Resort Karambunai

Reminder: It’s April Fool today, better watch out!

Fiona nearly got fooled by a friend of us this morning. It was funny, he sent a sms to Fiona early in the morning & told Fiona that he is Mr. Fu Yo from a new Travel Agent, wanted to do an inpsection in our hotel. Fiona actually prepared the sales kits & ready to go down. The moment before she walked out of the office, she realised it's April Fool today, she even remember that she will always get something from this guy every year, it's like an annual project to him. Anyway, the fooling project was 50% successful ... though it didn't materialise at last, but it's funny enough to make us laugh.

I think my colleagues (including my GM) have eyesight problem, they said I slimmed down a lot. In fact, I put on weight! Been eating a lot since CNY, couldn't resist to put all the good food in my stomach. Told myself to start fasting after Khay left KK, but shit ... We went to Mc D today & Daniel bought each one of us a cup of Ice Cream after our sumptious meal (Great deal: Special offer from Mc D, only on April's Fool - RM0.50 per Ice Cream!) So, my fasting plan gonna postpone 'till tomorrow lar ...

Opss ... some of you might feel my above entry is irrelevant to the title. be patient lar ... here it goes ...

I had a fine weekend with Khay & some friends, especially the 2 little girl (Hui Hui & Wen Wen) at Nexus Resort Karambunai. I've got a very cheap hotelier rate to stay in a fantastic newly renovated 5-Star room, with spetacular sea view. Believe me. the atmosphere is superb! Look at the photos enclosed below, you'll know.

Exterior view: -

Nevertheless, we were quite disappointed with their Dim Sum in Noble House. Khay came here to try out their Dim Sum which has been strongly recommended by lots of people. It’s out of our expectation that the quality of the Dim Sum served on that day was very poor, especially the Prawn Dumpling (Har Gao) & Pheonix Dumpling, prawn are not fresh. I’ve been told by one of the waitress that the prawn pastes were old stock for few days, the reason for serving us the unfresh prawn was to clear the old stock. This shouldn’t be the quality for a 5-star resort. We’re paying such a high price, we shall expect high quality food, which we don’t think we get it from Noble House. In another word, the food we're paying is not value for money. To those of you who are reading this, I don't mean to offence anyone here, do make your own decision whether to give them a 2nd chance or not. Well, for me ... no harm trying, perhaps they might improve after receiving my complaints.

In spite of the little hiccup happened in thier Chinese Restaurant, the entire stay were pleasant & great. Without further delay, we grabbed the chance to have fun at the swiming pool before it rains badly. No doubt, we were all amused by the 2 adorable kids.

If you notice her hand in the second photo, that's her trademark of acting cute.
When someone asked her to
扮可爱 (act cute), she'll definitely do this.

That night was actually a pre-celebration of my birthday coz he can't be here on my actual day. Though it's a bit early, but I appreciated his sincerity.

I'm back ...

It's good to be home. Every time when I was away from home, I miss my family + my bed + my room + my everything back at home.

Anyway, I had a good trip with him this time. Everything was fine, at least under control =p. He managed to make his signature dish (榴连pancake) for me, which I really love it. It was too tempted until I forgot to take a picture of it to show-off here. It's a mixture of cream with durian paste, wrapped by a super thin layer of dough. It is very nice ... the cream & durian paste blended equally & fully melted in my mouth. Durian is a much loved as well as a much hated fruit I should say. Why? Because you either hate it or love it. Some people (like my Aunty Betty) gets turn off by the smell even before she tasted it, whereas some just simply love it, that's me! I'm a durian lover & great fans of cream stuffs. So, can you imagine how much I love this dessert he made for me?

I should be off from blogging about food, but please bear with me, my entire trip is about eat eat eat! He brought me to eat all his favourite food around his area. The first day we touched down, we had the best Pan Mee at Cheras, it was nice. And people know me should know I love eating Pan Mee very much! On that very same night, we dropped by SS2 (甜心点心) for some 拉面 & special Dim Sum. One of his friend is working there and he got us some new & nice recipe to try on. Again ... I was blardy full before I go to bed that night.

On the next day morning, he brought me to the best Char Kuay Teow in town. I'm not a person who is so particular in food, I can be very satisfied for anything that is edible. I enjoyed the Char Kuay Teow very much that morning. At the same time, he enjoyed his favourite Curry Mee.

This is my first ever KL trip which doesn't involve much shopping but mainly aim for FOOD! Yes, you didn't get my wrong, I didn't go much shopping this time, only managed to shop a little while in Mid Valley & Pavilion. Thus, not much new clothes to replenish my wardrobe this time.

Finally ... I'm in Pavilion!

We went to Genting on Monday. It was rainy season, pretty cold up there, I forgot to bring my jacket, my long sleeve Esprit top & my very own shore actually saved me.

On the way to the casino

We must agree that both of us don't have the betting luck at all, we just spent a very short tour in the casino. Well, not much interest on gambling, we went for a midnite show instead.

Before we check-out

On our way back to KL, we dropped by The Chin Swee Caves Temple (清水岩庙) which is situated in the most scenic site of Genting Highlands. The renovation of the temple is spectacular, the atmosphere of the temple is grand & nice.

One of the many views of the temple ... the nicely decorated cave.

Posing with “八仙过海”

The spectacular mountain scenery just right behind me

Our very own self-snap pix

The Buddha statue stand high & tall behind the temple

Behind me is a nine-storey Pagoda decorated with many figurines of Buddha

My niece said these 3 pix are special. Again, there're our self-snap pix, which we couldn't focus properly. =p

Last but not least, the night before I left KL. We had our dinner at the revolving restaurant (situated at the 18th Floor of Federal Hotel).
And after the splendid dinner, he brought me to another place around Cheras (I can't recall the name of that place), just to try out the Cheesy Chicken Chop. He knows I love cheese, that's why he brought me there. And the Cheesy Chicken Chop was great!

As I said, my entire trip was about FOOD, I really ate a lot lately, obviously gaining some weight. Friends around me ... please remind me to stop eating whenever you dine out with me!

My best friend's wedding

I have a lot of photos to share with you guys this time!

It was a great & fruitful trip for me, had fun gathering with some school mates during Vanessa's wedding dinner and of course, I enjoyed my shoppings this time, got myself something that I love & been aiming for (will talk about it in the later part of this blog).

Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Daniel & Vanessa!

The wedding dinner took place in Imbi Palace (the same restaurant where Kenny & Gloria had their wedding dinner 2 years ago).
Menu of that night

Being her Ji Mui of that night, we had this Daisy band over our hand.
The dinner started quite late at 9pm, I didn't know people from KL is late-comer as well, even worse if compare to Sabahan! The lovely couple made a grand entrance before the dinner starts officially.

Dinner was served after that.

Happyily-Ever-After

[Note: Don't know if you guys (those who attended Kenny's wedding dinner 2 years ago ) still remember this annoying lady as the emcee for the night, talked so loud & even made some stupid effect when Kenny & Gloria were kissing. This lady still there! She was the Emcee during the Yam Seng session as well. She did & talked the same greetings, never change! and ... her voice is still very annoying! Look at the above pix to refresh your mind, can you see that lady holding the microphone?]

We were busy taking photos the entire night:-

My Shopping Part:

Pavilion Shopping Mall:
KL is booming up with many new shopping complexes. We took a stroll around Bukit Bintang area on the first day we arrived (just before the wedding dinner). The pace of change in Bukit Bintang is very fast. We visited this latest shopping mall Pavilion, just right opposite Starhill. It only operated for one month. If you are looking for a wide variety of shopping and a one-stop entertainment, this is your unique pleasure experience. I love the shopping atmosphere here, grand and wide space, interesting outlets ranging from Giordano, U2, Paul Frank, Quicksilver to Coach, Burberry. Any level of brand ... you can get it here!

Queen's Park:
Our shopping trip continued all the way down to Jalan Pudu Queen's Park. Steph drove us there this morning. it's more to an outlet store for branded stuffs such as MNG, Esprit, DKNY, CK, Naf Naf, Nike and so on. The exciting part is ... you'll be able to grab some cheap branded stuffs here! Basically, they sell slightly out-dated fashion (if you're not a person who must be up-to-date all the time, I feel this is ok) and perhaps rejected product from the factory. Not too fussy, I'm sure you can get what you want here, of course at a reasonable price! Definitely worth to visit!
These are what I got from Queen's Park

The Gardens:
Located adjacent to Mid Valley Megamall, another great place for shopping maniac. We can see 2 interesting departmental stores here -- Robinsons from Singapore & Isetan. And of course, you'll see all other retailers that are opening their doors at The Gardens. Hmm ... for me, The Gardens is just another mall, nothing to shout about except the Robinson departmental stall comes in from Singapore. AND ... after much consideration .... I bought a Burberry handbag here at The Gardens (Isetan). This is the item that I mention at the beginning of this blog, I just love it so much.
It costs me RM1,100 ... I'm gonna have canteen food every afternoon at least for one month!

Food:

Trendy restaurants, cafes and bars have also come up along in KL. Went to eat in few places and found out this is the place that worth to blog about --- the apartment at The Curve. A pretty cozy place that has great decor and ambiance for few friends to chit chat. Had seen Go Go Trendy's review about the apartment, I was so looking forward to visit this place when I saw this in the TV last month. Thanks to Steph for bringing us there, I seriously had a great time there. I heard that their food are tantalizing, but we got ourselves some dessert instead. Strongly recommended by Steph, the Strawberry & Peach Pavlova, it was nice & sweet. Additionally, I ordered the Chocolate Pudding which is another must-try item here. The chocolate is served in hot, it's so rich ... love it so much. And I know how fattening are these foods ... =p

Enjoying my Chocolate Pudding

The price is a little high, but worth it. Thanks to Christine who spending us this luxury high tea in the apartment.
