The above could be an interesting title for a news release over the local newspapers! The whole world will definitely laugh at us and the management of PH. This is so ridiculous, how could they get such a stupid idea, asking admin staffs to become waiter / waitress in the staff canteen on a daily basis.
This morning, I received a memo & duty roaster from the damn HR department, informing that admin staffs are requested to serve food during lunch time in the staff canteen. Can you all imagine, an office lady with office suits & high heal, elegantly stand in front of the food line to scoop rice for 2 hours?! This will again make people LAUGH!
Why do they need a graduate to scoop rice for the rest of the staff? This question never stops arising in my mind the entire morning, it just doesn’t make sense at all. It’s out of our job scope. Never ending Gotong Royong has been a burden to us, now we have to cover F&B’s job scope as well. It means the Housekeeping & F&B departments are not functioning well, then why do we still need them?
“Let us work together as a team of the Hotel and ensure the objective as well the need to move fast track along the new corporate vision.”
I don’t get the idea how the HRM came up with the above crap. If we were to serve at the canteen for 2 hours a day & leave our urgent office works unattended for 2 hours, how do we move fast track along the new corporate vision? This will worsen everything + affect the administrative efficiency, and in turn slow down the production day-by-day. Some people just never use their brain to think logically! This is what we call ‘Bird Brain’!
“Kindly be informed that, the person in-charge will be entitled to a buffet lunch at Café Promenade after they have finished serving their food.”
This is another sentence extracted from the memo, it’s also one of the sentence that really make me mad. Do they think the café food is enough to reward us? Do I need to work as a waitress in return for a buffet lunch in the café? I DON’T NEED THAT AT ALL … I can spend wisely and treat myself a much better buffet at T.A.T.U.
Sometimes I wonder, should I stay on with this company or leave to a better hotel? Anyhow, I always tell myself to abide and get more experience here. I need to stay here for a minimum of 2 years but definitely not more than 4 years.
p/s: please bear with me for nagging over here. I’m just over-annoyed and find out this could be a way for me to release stress.

How to move along with such "nonsense" vision ?? better still hire a security guide 24 hrs stand next to the Rubbish Bin & DOg-WATCH who throw the waste lah...

creamy, it shocked me when i read this entry of urs.. scoop rice for staff? that's sounds really ridiculous.. all other staff cannot scoop the rice themselves??
i agree with u that u should have the 2 hours attending matters in ur office and not scooping rice for "staff" which i'm 100% sure they could do it themselves!

Yes Meatball, imagine! How ridiculous is it for all office ladies to serve in the staff canteen! It's not workable at all ... our HR is just too stupid.
