Pureeing homemade baby food is very fun & simple, it takes less time to puree baby food than cooking porridge for them. Cook (steam / boil / bake) the food (any fruits / vegetables or even meat at a later stage), cool it down, toss it into a blender and puree it away.
I started off with Bananas 2 weeks ago & pureed Apple this week for my little one. The apple puree taste great, it tasted exactly like the fillings of McDonald's Apple Pie!

Banana Puree
Bananas are another great first food for your baby. Research indicates that bananas and their mucosal properties actually help coat the tummy and help aid in digestion. Bananas are sweet, which may help baby more readily accept the first food experience.
Vitamins: A, C & Folate
Minerals: Potassium, Phosphorus, Selenium, Magnesium, Calcium
- Peel a ripe banana (do not cook)
- Place banana in a blender & add in formula / breast milk to puree it
Apple Puree
Apples are a great choice for one of an infant's first food. They are easy to prepare, easy to digest and are full of nutrients. They contain 2 types of fiber namely insoluble fiber & soluble fiber. Both help maintain bowel regularity. "An Apple a Day" as the old saying would "keeps doctor away"! it's truly a wonder fruit!
Vitamins: A, C, E & Folate
Minerals: Potassium / calcium / Phosphorus / Magnesium / Selenium & a small amount of iron / manganese / copper / zinc
- Peel & cut apple into slices / chunks
- Place slices or chucks into a plate & steam until tender
- Mash or blend steamed apple to achieve a smooth applesauce consistency. Add in the reserved water as necessary to achieve a smooth & thin puree
The puree are nicely placed in the freezer for a 10-day consumption ... ^_^
