What does this V-Day meant for you?

Note: My niece Yvonne handmade this & sell it RM25 per stalk in her school ... isn't she brilliant? I support her by buying one for Anita -- my Superwoman lady boss!

Every February, gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and why do we celebrate this day? As we step into the month of February, everyone start thinking how & where to spend their Valentine's day with their loved ones. To be frank, this occasion to me is kind of obsolete or should I say it's no longer suitable for people like me at this stage?

I don't get it why couples have to pay double for everything on this day, isn't it just another normal day? Does it mean that couples have to love each other more today & continue to cheat each other for the rest of the days? For me, I love him everyday, every hour, every minute & every second, not only on Valentine's Day. Isn't it great if we can spend everyday like a special day?

My thinking tend to change throughout these years. Back in 10 years ago, I used to be very particular on all these special occasions where boyfriends have to buy gifts or carrying a huge bouquet of flowers (at the same time, humiliating themselves all around) for their girlfriends to show people how much they love their girlfriend. On top of that, a romantic candlelight dinner is a must as a tool for the girls to show-off to their friends . Ahh .. shoot me if you think I'm wrong. But I'm sure majority of the youngsters out there think & do the same. Well, I admitted and it was so stooopid!

Hmmm ... I've done a few unofficial interviews throughout the week, some of my friends / colleagues tend to think the same as me. And I've got a conclusion that couples that are really looking into future would not waste money on unnecessary gifts & dinners because they have to save up the money for their various installments + kids' educations + yearly family vacations and so on. A small amount of couples would do the unnecessary on this day because this is their first valentines (forgiven). And the rest of the couples who are willing to spend extra, pay double amount of money for flowers & dinners are the young couples that want to please each others' heart.

Few days ago, few of my friends were asking me to give them suggestions & ideas on how & where to have their romantic dinners. I was puzzled, why me?! Do I look that 'experienced' to them? Matthew even said I have a Love Guru look .. that's why! *sigh* In fact, I don't! I don't even know where shall I go on that day.

Anyway, I still love my Barney very much although we do not really plan & celebrate on this day. Bought him a simple gift, something that he will love it but will definitely give him a big surprise or trick before he can get his real gift. Looking forward to see his foolish look! lolz ...
