My Lunar New Year

Yea ... I know I'm a bit late, but at last I'm back! This post is a bit overdue, but I must upload this, if not my blog would have missed a big part in the year of Rat.

Chinese New Year, it's another round of gathering with friends & families.

6 Feb 2008 (Wednesday, CNY Eve)
We started off with a reunion dinner at Tai Thong on the eve. Of course, "Low Sang" is a must in any CNY dinner, it could also known as Chinese's all-time-favourite. Little did I know that "Low Sang" is actually a tradition originally created by Malaysian [Note: only Malaysian-Chinese do this, Chinese in other countries never have this tradition]. "Yee Sang" (means fish alive in Chinese) is a kind of raw fish salad, the act of tossing & mixing the dish is called "Low Sang", which symbolized liveliness, prosperity and longevity that brings good fortune and wealth in the coming year. Traditionally, it was practiced on the 7th day of CNY but nowadays people tends to 'over-toss' and it's available as early as one month before the CNY.

* I have to skip the first day of CNY because I have yet to get my pictures taken on that day. As usual, I was working, was appointed as the fortune lady besides the God of Fortune. Will do another over-due post once I've got the pictures when I get back to work on Thursday*

8 Feb 2008 (Friday, 2nd day of CNY)
We had a little open house on this day. Just some simple catering from Dowish Restaurant.

Relatives and my close friends (2 monsters from the mar) were cordially invited. Had some fun-gathering session throughout the day and my dad continued telling his jokes & become the co-entertainer at home.

Crystal wasn't in a good mood that day, she fall sick. I think she felt a bit annoy when we force her to take pictures with us. And finally ... the last one with the round ball Nicole. She still look very unhappy...

My dad always attracted kids, all kids in our house love to be hugged by him (including me I guess).

The 2 monsters from the mar came in a bit late, as Dr. Paw a.k.a Datuk Lo was busy entertaining himself at home.

9 Feb 2008 (Saturday, 3rd day of CNY)
First & foremost, a BIG Congratulation to Ann & her hubby, they'll have a baby rat this year! Yes, Ann is pregnant! Feel so happy for her.

Attended Ann's wedding at STAR. A simple & nice wedding reception for the lovely couple Ann & Alagappa.

"When Ann resigned from Promenade, she wanted to have freedom but little did she know that she lost her freedom to me after that...." --- this was one of the memorable sentence in Alagappa's speech, which I think it's pretty true. However, I don't think Ann lost her freedom after this, great hubby she has.

Didn't manage to take much pix on that night, was supposed to be a fun night but some people couldn't turn up, we didn't have enough people to chill the party. But at least ... our table was the loudest during the tossing session. We even got the microphone to scream 'yammmm seng' until the whole ballroom can hear our voices from the speaker. Why we can get the microphone? Because we have the Events Manager of STAR sitting on our table! lolz ...

The few of us proceed to Blue Note + Shenanigan's after the dinner, started the "countdown clubbing night" with JL, he'll be leaving to Laos soon, I guess there would be no more night life for him. =p So, rock on before you leave!
