Breaking of Fast and Terawih at PH

Time flies as fast as rocket, I mean it’s really fast! Another PH’s annual event – “Majlis Berbuka Puasa dan Solat Terawih” is here again. Still remember last year I wear my so called ‘too sexy’ Baju Kebaya, and received complaint from Toh Puan. Because my kebaya is in white colour, it looks ok to any other one, but it might be a bit ‘over’ for Muslims. Well, this year round … I tried not to wear something that would offense anyone. In fact, I chose to wear a pant with Baju Melayu in dark colour. I bought it from The Curve during my last trip to KL.

Do I look special in the crowd? I’m the only one wearing pants last night, I did that purposely =p. Denise said it looks like a Japanese costume more than Malay. lolz … and I did that purposely again!

For those of you who don’t know what’s the purpose of this event. Just a short explanation. It’s an annual event hosted by our hotel in observation of the holy month of Ramandan. Basically will invite honorable guest such as TYT (Tuan Yang Terutama) & his wife (Toh Puan), senior officials from state cabinet, government agencies, corporate companies, travel agents, our regular guests & members of the press to this fast breaking dinner. The function started of with guests breaking their fast by indulging some Malay Kuih & Air Bandung, followed by a short prayer. A splendid spread of Malay feast was served after a welcome address by our GM. After the dinner, guests proceeded to perform Isyak and Terawih prayers, which took them 1 hour plus. During that time, we were walking here & there, killing the time with gossips among each other. The entire program was a bit long-winded, but that’s the traditional Malay culture which we have to respect.

We took quite a lot of pictures during that time, but due to the poor quality of our company cameras, all the pictures came out quite yellowish & dark. Managed to photoshopped a few of it, others are all hopeless:-

My colleagues said the camera made all our faces turn yellow, as if like we’re all in the desert. 火舞黄沙的效果 … that sounds insulting! Thanks to our hotel’s 90’s camera! *grrrrrrrrr * My own Cybershot is much better!

and ... by the way

HAPPY MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL!
