An ultimate celebration of Parents' Day

The much-awaited “A Special Tribute to Mum & Dad” Dinner made a big BANG last Friday night, it was a great event, all were entertained by 10 talented finalists of the "Golden Years Karaoke Singing Competition" [Note: it's "Golden Year", they are all being senior citizens age between 50 and 70 years old]. Basically, it's a Parents' Day celebration that commemorate all Mums and Dads for their never-ending love and sacrifices.

It's one week over and it's such a big event, however it's not featured in the newspaper (well, we should know why *sigh*). The winner of that night called us today, asking why it is not featured in all the local newspapers. We do not know how to answer, he was pretty upset coz he is expecting wishes from all friends & relatives after reading the news release, but non. I can imagine how this uncle feels & I must say, he's such a funny old man, his call actually cheered up our monotonous afternoon, though he was scolding, but it made us laugh. He just want his friends & relatives to SEE IT & WISH HIM!

Well, I felt sorry to him for not featuring the news coz of some stupid reason, let me feature it in my blog here, just wishing some of his friends or relatives happen to read my blog, do call & wish him. He'll be glad ^_^

As I said, it was a great event, the night started off with a singing performance by the Emcee, while everyone was enjoying their 9-course lavish Chinese Set Dinner.

Winners of the competition are:

Winner - Mr. Wong Kim Fook 黄金福 (he's the uncle that called our office today). He also won the best costume award (Male category).

1^st Runner Up - Mr. Robert Lee 李越辉

2^nd Runner Up - Ms. Teo Li Eng 张丽英. I like this lady, she looks so elegant, she sings very well too. Oh ya ... she won the Popularity Award which was voted by the floor on that night itself.

Best Costume Award (Female category) - Ms. Ma Yim Fong 马艳芳

Before I forget, there was a Cake Cutting ceremony by each family. Every table was given a lovely cake. The Emcee started to sing a Cantonese song related to parents. I don't know the title of the song, the lyric is so touching. While everyone started to blow candles & cut the cake, that was the moment where my tears nearly run down from my cheek, I don't know why, I always feel like crying when I see something touching from TV, even a one-minute commercial can make me cry.

Anyway, go back to the dinner … The event went on smoothly as planned, and it's exciting to see each and everyone are having a great fun on that night.
