An eventful night for my family

Once more, to those of you who sent me supportive messages & calls during our hard time, a BIG THANKS!

My mum’s condition is getting better day by day, she can talk & eat happily now, her appetite pretty good. This morning she managed to hold doctor’s hand with her limited strength, I believe she’ll be able to move freely very soon. Everything is under control. However, she still needs much attention at the moment …

Although things are over, but I still have to raise my dissatisfaction towards the damn hospital -- Sabah Medical Centre (SMC) at Damai. They’re terrible! That night, we actually tot of sending my mum to SMC, having the thought that private hospital have better environment + better facilities. Little did I know, not even their doctors & nurses are qualified! While we were in SMC, my mum was sent to a CT scan. We expected them to send my mum up to the wad for some medication after the scan. Nevertheless, we were being notified that SMC doesn’t have a brain specialist & the right equipment for my mum’s problem, we were being directed to Queen Elizabeth (QE). Out of my expectation, they asked us to shift my mum on our own transport [Note: it was an emergency case, my mum seriously need urgent attention / medication that time]. I rolled my eyes very big & threw them a question sarcastically, “why the hell you guys park the ambulances in front of the main entrance, while you’re not using it to transfer patient to another hospital?” They just told me …. “THE DRIVER IS SLEEPING!” Needless to say, I’m sure everyone reading this would start scolding on their terrible service + attitude!

Without wasting time, my dad quickly arranged QE to send their ambulance here to pick up mum … and my dad had to pay for that!!! I’m wondering, isn’t that part of their service? Or should I say, it’s their responsibility, why do we have to pay for it? The same goes to my salary, can I get extra pay for typing a memo for my boss? *I’m puzzled*

Anyway, my mum was in QE’s emergency wad for quite some time. They treated her with some medicine & monitor her blood pressure, which is extremely high at that time. We were informed that they will send my mum up to the medical wad soonest possible. However, we waited from 3am until 6am … my mum was still lying in emergency wad. I started to show my intolerant, the doctor told me it takes time to transfer my mum up to the wad because they’re still using manual registration. Oh goshhhh …. With today’s technology, they’re still doing things manually! I just can’t accept that.

At last, my mum reached the female medical wad at 6:30am. The terrible conditions of that wad add on my worryness. I’m so concerned that my mum couldn’t rest well under such a sharing room without air con. Somemore, strangers are walking here & there. How could she get well with this kind of bad condition? We then asked for a shift to an individual / private wad. They put my mum under WAITING-LIST. In addition, patient can only move to individual wad under doctor’s recommendation! Damn it …

We have no choice but to let my mum stay there! What to do ……..

Anyhow, thanks god my mum get-welled. There’re a few doctors (I only remember Dr. Hii & Dr. Lee) have done a good job. My mum likes them …

I’ve been receiving tons of supportive sms & calls from friends & relatives around. Now that I know the world isn’t that cruel & I guess my mum has built a good rapport with everyone. No doubt, her PR skill is excellent!

As a token of appreciation, I’ve decided to type out all these supportive sms. Also, to let my mum reads it when she’s back to multiply.

"ST, no need 4 u 2 join the food testing 2mrw nite. Just b wif ur mum. I’m sure she needs all d support & attention during this time. Nite "

Just for info benefit, I was supposed to work tonight. There’ll be a food testing press conference at our club lounge. I always say I have a good boss. I was like so unhappy last night after leaving the hospital, thinking I can only visit my mum on Friday night and Anita’s sms came at the right time. Her sms is so warmed to me.

I’ll be off to see my mum in an hour time … *finger cross no last minute matter comes up later*

This could be my longest ever blog entry. I just have too many things to voice out, too many people to thanks, too much stuff to report. But I guess I have to end it by now … nobody would have patient to read such a long-winded post.
